End of Term Party 19/07/2018
In both Blue Room and Green Room we had our End of Term parties. A big thank you to all our families and carers for making time to come in and celebrate with us. It was a wonderful experience where we celebrated and shared traditional food brought in by parents. It felt happy like a big family coming together. The most important part of it was seeing the children very excited and happy being around their loved ones, particularly on the dance floor. Following our room tradition small presents from all members of staff were given to the children.

A very big Thank You to all the families for joining us and helping to make it such a fabulous day out for everyone.
We also had a focus on our seaside trip this half term. In Green Room the children took part in a variety of different activities such as collage with natural resources that come from the seaside i.e. seashells, sand and pebbles and creating a small world seaside scenario. Blue Room Bruce Castle Trip - w/b 14/05/2018
Children enjoyed a fun-packed trip to Bruce Castle Museum. After listening to the story of the Three Little Pigs, the children had fun building their own houses using large foam blocks and after that they used different materials to create their own collage pictures of houses made of straw, sticks and bricks.
Following a look around the museum, which contains lots of information and interesting artefacts that tell us about the history of the house and the local area, everyone enjoyed a picnic lunch in the park.

Christmas Celebrations 2017
As part of our Christmas celebrations we shared Christmas stories. In the last week of term we decided to act out the story of Christmas so children could learn about why we celebrate it. Adults and children played the characters of Mary, Joseph, the wise men, the shepherds and angel Gabriel. The children showed excellent listening skills throughout and were able to re-tell the story afterwards. The Ofsted inspector also watched the performance. Then, we all sang some Christmas songs with some help from Angeline.
We also had a really lovely evening when the children, families and staff got together to sing some familiar and favourite Christmas carols whilst sharing some mulled punch and mince pies. We all had a great time and our shared voices created a beautiful sounding Christmas choir.

Police visit Blue Room 03/10/2017
This half term our topic is ‘All about me’. As part of this topic we have been learning about different occupations and ‘people who help us’ e.g. police, doctors, vets etc.
Today we were very lucky to receive a visit from three police officers who work at Tottenham Police station. The children were very excited (some were slightly worried at first) to see real police officers in Blue Room. The police officers kindly brought in some special police equipment including hats, radios and vests for children to explore and try on.
We sat with the police officers in a circle and asked some very interesting questions to find out more about their roles.

We had a fantastic trip to the seaside on Friday 14th July. After a coach journey to Shoeburyness we had an amazing day on the beach - sharing picnics, paddling in the sea and exploring the shorefront searching for crabs and shells.
Don’t forget that’s it very easy to travel to our local Essex coast. By getting a train from Harringay Green Lanes Station you can be in Shoeburyness or one of the other local beaches in less than an hour and a half. It’s a very easy journey and worth remembering as you look for things to do over the Summer Holidays. There may also be some special offers and discounts for family fares over the holiday period. If you would like any further information please talk to your Key Person.

Please respond to Haringey’s public consultation on the future funding for nurseries in Haringey
Haringey Council is proposing to cut the childcare subsidy money that Woodlands Park receives, which amounts to more than £200,000 per year.
This helps to pay for the childcare provided at Woodlands Park. Without the childcare subsidy, fees for childcare at Woodlands are likely to increase by at least one third.
We have sent out a letter and more information to help you complete the consultation separately
THE CLOSING DATE FOR RESPONSES is SUNDAY 18thDECEMBER 2017 so please complete it now!
